Singapore 20 September

The next day, Yufan had to leave for work early morning 7:15 am, so i left home with her and she dropped me at the MRT near her hospital, Outram Park. I was supposed to go to Sentosa to meet Zoey and Cindy, and there was no way to contact each other. I had to ask for help to navigate around, i read the night before that if i wanted to get to sentosa, i should take the Sentosa express, that departs from Vivo City. Turns out its the Harbour Front stop, i was trying to find a stop named Vivo City on the map. Bought my MRT ticket and headed towards Harbour Front, it was still really early morning, and all the shops were still closed in Vivo City, i had to make my way up to 3rd floor to catch the MRT express, bought another ticket and headed towards Sentosa, 1st stop Waterfront Station. Just following the crowd and the signs to find Hotel Michael, some hotel Staff pointed me to the right direction, it was not so far away. But reaching the Hotel, they couldn't find any reservation names on Zoey and her phone was unreachable. So i paid $4 to get 1 hour internet access and try whatsapp, that didn't work, so i went onto facebook and got Cindy's chineese name and finally they managed to find a reservation on her name. Apparently Zoey told the reception that someone would be coming over and looking for her, but the staff probably never passed the message around.
Anyway this was our first day out in Singapore, there was a nice view of Universal Studios from the hotel balcony, the plan was to get some food at Stranger's reunion, one of my friend's café. So we left the hotel and took the MRT again towards the café, i can't remember where we stopped but i found myself back near Eu tong sen street , near the hospital where Yufan works.
Zoey couldnt remember where the café was, and we got lost. And since we didn't have 3G, we couldnt use the GPS. We went walking around to find a 7Eleven and finally bought a Singapore sim, but even with the GPS we were a bit lost and had to ask for directions.
It took us 1 hour and a half to finally get to the café, finally could get some food and coffee. Coffee was great, just how i like mine, small nice place. Just reminds me of Melbourne.

After Brunch we headed out to grab a Taxi, we needed to exchange our money and get some Singapore dollars, the taxi driver advised us to go to Lucky Plazza to get good rates. Zoey went to meet someone who got us front row grandstands tickets, it was faily cheap for grandstand tickets, $300. After getting the F1 tickets we walked along Orchard road looking around, and we found someone on the street selling Sandwitch toast. Was 1st time trying, it wasn't bad.

We then headed towards the Botanical Gardens, via Taxi. The best part was the National Orchid Garden, but had to pay for entrance, it was $1 for Students, really cheap and worth all the money, there were so many nice flowers over there. Was also my first time finding a squirrel in Singapore, i didn't even know they had squirrels.

It was getting a bit late afternoon already, so we were planning to check out the Marina Bay Sands, the Casino and the Sky park. But the taxi we took wasn't aware that Marina Bay was closed because of F1, so we had to go the other way, and he told us that it would take really long to go back the other way, so he dropped us around Bugis Junction where we found some real street food, was really cheap. I wasn't quite sure what to try to i had Lor Mee, it was allright, but at $3.50 , i would eat it again anytime. There was a MOS burger across the street and i never had those, so i went in and got a rice burger. I remember i didn't really like it, id rather eat the street food. We then went to Bugis+, a shopping centre, and there we found the biggest Uniqlo store in Singapore. Don't have those either in Melbourne, and i really want to go and check, and we all bought something, haha.

After shopping around, we then took the MRT back to Harbour Front and had dinner at Food republic again, i can't remember what i had, was too tired to take pictures. Also we found out the Sentosa Express is free for hotel guests. Back to Hotel Michael to grab our stuff and move to Festive Hotel. And we were just lazying around in the hotel room not really wanting to go out yet, took a quick shower to freshen up, by the time everyone was done, it was already 11:30. And the MRT express stops at midnight. We we just decided to stay in, we went out again in the morning probably around 1:00 am, and went snacking. Some places in Sentosa was still open, got food in Toastbox, i had laksa and then went 7ELEVEN to get some drinks.
